Moore College has a long‑standing relationship with George Whitefield College, which was established in 1989 by David Broughton Knox, former Moore College principal and the first principal of George Whitefield College. He laid the foundations of a college that would have as the focal point of its study program the “whole counsel of God”. He believed that men and women who knew God and understood His will would be faithful in imparting this saving truth to others. The vision of George Whitefield College is that Africa be filled with preachers and teachers who deeply love the Lord Jesus and who have a profound understanding of Scripture, in order that Africa may increase its share in the Kingdom of God.
The Centre for Global Mission is continuing this relationship as we partner with George Whitefield College in their new Explore Course. This course is accessed via mobile phone and tablet applications, making it cost‑effective and widely available throughout Africa. The Centre for Global Mission has given George Whitefield College access to the Moore College PTC bank of questions in English, and we are working with them to build a Moodle site with the Explore Course content, which will work in conjunction with other mobile applications, enabling online course enrolment, assessment and feedback to students.
