Tumaini Ministries are working in Korogocho, one of the largest slum neighbourhoods of Nairobi, Kenya. They are committed to training pastors and planting churches in Korogocho and the surrounding areas. They have historically been helped a great deal by Australians but have now moved towards local leadership – partnering with the Centre for Global Mission has been part of that transition for them. They work entirely locally and by word-of-mouth.
The Centre for Global Mission is currently working with Tumaini Ministries to set up their own Award for theological education. When the need arises we can provide them with an Online Learning Environment and a supporting database. Tumaini Ministries will use these tools to provide access to theological education. They are currently using the Moore College PTC material in ENGLISH and SWAHILI. There are ongoing translations of the PTC material into Swahili.
